As part of our Simple Reminders for a Healthy 2016 Series we wanted to share some quick tips to keeping your healthy New Year’s Resolutions.
- Keep it simple. When we make resolutions sometimes we try to create large bucket lists but fall short when we start dealing with competing priorities in everyday life.
- Make it specific and have a Plan. Just saying I want to start working out isn’t enough. Get specific, “I am joining a spin class on Monday nights” “I will sign up for Zumba on Thursdays”
This goes for your diet as well. Just saying I want to lose weight is too broad of a statement. “I limit soda to twice a week” “I will eat salad at least once a day”
Vague goals in anything almost never result in success. This goes for business as much as personal. - Find what motivates you. Everyone needs motivation, you will always come across hurdles and excuses, but what drives you to be a healthier you. Write your motivations down, hang motivating pictures on the way. Do whatever it takes to keep focused and driven.
